Appeal for information after motorcyclist seriously injured on M60

The M60 was closed to traffic for several hours.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision on the M60 on Saturday.

Officers were called out to the incident involving a motorbike near Bredbury at around 1.40pm yesterday (July 12). The M60 was closed to traffic for several hours following the crash anti-clockwise between J25 Bredbury and J24 Denton.

A man in his 50s – believed to be the motorcyclist – was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His family have been informed. 

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is conducting enquiries, and so far, it is believed that there were no other vehicles involved in the incident. 

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or have dash-cam footage to contact them immediately.

Officers also thanked members of the public who stopped by the roadside to give the man initial first aid.
