Affordable legal services branch opens in Oldham

Outgoing Mayor, Cllr Eddie Moores launches the new legal practice with cutting of the cake, watched by guests and branch employees.

A London-based agency of highly qualified legal eagles is offering affordable services in Oldham.

Chancery Solicitors was opened by outgoing Oldham Mayor Councillor Eddie Moores, who told a packed house of guests at a special ceremony, “I am tremendously proud you have come to Chadderton. I wish you luck, but given your expertise and track record, I don’t think you will need it! Thank you for supporting the people of Oldham.”

The new team has vast experience which includes studying and working across England, Scotland and Bangladesh, plus at the Cabinet Office and Office for National Statistics.

The firm believes in the ability to pay and put dedication before profit. Their specialities include conveyancing and settling industrial and domestic disputes. But the subject they face most is concern around immigration law.

“People hear rumour, press the panic button – and then google the subject” said Mohammed Hussain, President of the Oldham Law Association, “Every case is different but people are looking for the trust and assurance that they can only get from a solicitor with up-to-date knowledge of the Law. I look forward to working with Chancery.”

Guests were treated to a brief history of how solicitors practice, including how they can now work from anywhere without the need for a shopfront and a town centre location.

Amin Babor Chowdhury organised the opening ceremony at the Falcon Business Centre, close to Chadderton Town Hall. He said: “What really impressed me about Chancery was their recognition of what a close community Oldham is, and how what they do will differ greatly from the service they offer in the capital. They are also keen to work with others. Every business and local economy that thrives has a competent legal team behind it and I think I speak for everyone in Oldham when I say how pleased we all are to have such accessible competence and expertise in our borough.”
