Miss Reporter Laraine Senthouse presented the prizes following the North West Driving Instructors Association annual road safety rally.
The overall winner’s prize for 1968 was awarded jointly to Peter Ashford, of Sunningdale Road, Haughton Green and Joseph Gregory of Bracken Close, Hollingworth. They also shared the award for the best van.
The Sunday rally set off from Stalybridge market ground with the presentation taking place the following Friday with a buffet supper at the Queen’s Hotel in Hyde.
Other winners included Malcolm Hadfield, of Wilshaw Grove, Ashton, Margaret Daniel of Glossop and Barbara Morris of Charlesworth.
