‘Parrots in peril’ may have been the theme for 1987’s National Zoo Month - but an Ashton family turning up for one of the special events at Chester Zoo were far from being an endangered species.
The zoo arranged ‘Parrot Sunday’ - offering complimentary visits to anyone of that name who got in touch.
More than 110 Parrots, Parrotts or Parretts did just that, including Richard and Judy Parrott and their children Garry, Gemma and Daniel, from Buttermere Road.
