Young stars shine at theatre awards

Three young performers are celebrating after winning a prestigious theatre award for their portrayal of the Three Little Pigs in Little Red Riding Hood. 

Chloe, Logan and Vivienne won the Greater Manchester Drama Federation Best Youth Performance of the Season award for their roles in the Partington Players' production. 

The Federation is recognised as one of the leading associations representing amateur theatre in the North West of England. 

The trio impressed judges with their performances, earning recognition at this year's GMDF festival. 

Chloe's mum, Sarah Hanson, said the youngsters were delighted to receive the award. Chloe and Logan attended the awards evening to collect their trophies, while Vivienne was on holiday and had her award collected on her behalf. 

Logan said: “It was really fun being in the panto and making new friends.” 

Vivienne added: “My favourite scene was when the three little pigs chased the wolf instead of the wolf chasing us!” 

For Chloe, the experience was an opportunity to explore a different side of performing. 

She said: “I loved playing one of the Three Little Pigs and performing in front of an audience, especially when they joined in and shouted, ‘Oh yes there is!’ 

“My favourite part was running across the stage after the Big Bad Wolf. Sam, who played the Big Bad Wolf, was amazing to work with because he really got into character and inspired me to give my best performance too. 

“I’ve danced on big stages before, but acting and having lines to say was completely different, and I learned so much about acting and singing. 

“Working with Logan and Vivienne, the other two piggies, was really fun because we came up with ideas together and helped each other. We’re all really excited to have won the Greater Manchester Drama Federation Best Youth Performance of the Season award together. I just love performing and being on stage feels like where I’m meant to be.” 

The award marks a memorable achievement for the talented trio, who are now looking forward to returning to the stage for this year's production of Cinderella.
