The organisers of Whaley Bridge Carnival have announced that this year's carnival has been cancelled.
Members of the committee have taken the difficult decision after much deliberation but stated they feel the priority has to be the safety of the community and everyone involved.
It is the second year running the committee has taken the decision but aims to bring the popular event back next year.
The date that has been set is Saturday 25 June 2022.
