Manor House Surgery is reminding its patients that verbal abuse towards its reception staff "will not be tolerated".
The GP surgery - which has sites on Manor Street in Glossop and Brosscroft in Hadfield - has said that there has been an increase in recent days of name-calling and verbal threats and abuse.
They posted on Facebook: "We have noticed an increase in verbal abuse to our reception staff over the past week. We realise that COVID is making life hard at present but our staff are here to help and name-calling/verbal threats and abuse will not be tolerated.
"We do record our incoming calls and listen to these and send warning letters to abusive patients.
"We would like to thank the majority of our patients who are considerate and understanding of this difficult time."
