Part of a Glossop road is set to be closed for a week to allow electrical works to be carried out.
Dinting Road will be closed between the junctions of Dinting Lane and Spire Hollin.
It will be closed from Tuesday (5 January) until Wednesday 13 January.
The alternative route for motorists will be via Shaw Lane, Brookfield, Dinting Vale, High Street West, Norfolk Street and vice versa.
Derbyshire County Council say access will be maintained wherever reasonably possible for residents and apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place.
The council adds that the road could reopen earlier than advertised if the work is completed sooner.
