Reuniting lost sheep

Charlesworth Parish Council could have hit upon a way of reuniting lost sheep with their owners.

Member Marcus Gill is suggesting putting a contact list of village farmers and their sheep markings on the council’s website and notice board.

Then anyone seeing one of the straying animals can determine who owns it from the splodge of colour on its fleece and phone the owner to say that they have found it.

Escapee sheep are a big problem in Charlesworth with most getting on to busy main roads through insecure fencing or field gates left open.

Other items making the agenda at the recent meeting, were:

- The now redundant village centre phone box and what kind of use to put it to.

- Proposals for a community orchard on the village green

- Dog control orders, plans for Remembrance  Day and a path around the Town Lane school field.
