Pupils at St Luke’s CE Primary School are enjoying a more flexible and welcoming learning space thanks to £500 won by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) in a High Peak Comps community prize draw.
The PTA has used the money to buy almost 100 cushions, along with warm blankets and vibrant indoor plants, helping to create more adaptable classroom environments for all pupils - particularly those who may not thrive with traditional table-and-chair learning.
The new resources give children greater choice over where and how they sit throughout the day, while helping to support different sensory needs and make classrooms feel more comfortable, homely and inclusive.
Headteacher Mrs Rogers said: “Every child learns differently, and creating adaptable spaces allows our pupils to find a comfortable spot where they can focus and feel at ease.
“We are incredibly grateful to the PTA and our supportive school community for making this transformation possible.”
By providing a range of seating options, from collaborative group areas to cosy quieter spaces, the school hopes to create a more engaging and supportive atmosphere that encourages both learning and wellbeing.
The PTA would like to thank the parent who nominated them for the High Peak Comps community prize draw, as well as High Peak Comps for running the competition.
