Police are warning motorists not to drive in the wrong direction down a one-way street due to a road closure in Old Glossop.
Church Street is currently closed until Sunday 4 September to allow Derbyshire County Council's Highways team to carry out retaining wall and railing repairs.
Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team say they have received several reports of drivers using Thorpe Street in the wrong direction.
A spokesperson said: "Whilst we understand that the diversion around Old Glossop is a long one, driving the wrong way on a one-way street is illegal and dangerous. Residents of the area, please be sure not to be tempted and please ensure that any taxis or delivery drivers that come to your property are made aware."
