Police issue appeal about assault

Police have issued an alert regarding an incident in which a teenage girl was assaulted in Hadfield

The incident occurred at around 7:10pm on Tuesday March 18, when a teenager was assaulted as she walked through a car park in Waterside, Hadfield.

A Facebook post states that the victim didn’t see the attacker before he or she struck, as she was approached from behind. However, as the person ran away she did note that they had their hood up and were wearing all black with some white on their trainers.

Several Facebook users have been speculating about the identity of the attacker, but all reports are so far unverified.

Officers investigating are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, as well as anyone who has any information. They can be contacted via their Facebook page and website: www.derbyshire.police.uk or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting the reference ‘574 of 19 March’.
