Partial closure of MyActive Glossop from today

Areas of MyActive Glossop leisure centre will be closed from today for further assessment and possible remedial works following recent surveys.

The squash courts, studio (former squash court), and the cardiovascular area of the gym will be closed whilst this work is undertaken.

The area of the gym containing the resistance machines, the functional training room, sports hall and changing facilities will all remain open. Some re-organisation or these areas may take place to enable as many activities and classes as possible to continue.

Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, said: “The ongoing safety of our customers, visitors and staff is always our number one priority and I would like to thank everyone for their continued understanding and patience during this time.

“We are not yet able to confirm how long these areas will be closed for but we will, of course, provide further updates when we do know, so please check our website and social channels.”
