Padfield Plum Fair Scamper Fell Race: Brooks and Cruickshank Take Top Spots

The hills above Padfield provided the setting for today’s Padfield Plum Fair Fell Race, hosted by Glossop Fell Races.

The hills above Padfield provided the setting for today’s Padfield Plum Fair Fell Race, hosted by Glossop Fell Races. The challenging 5.5mile course saw runners tackle over 1,000 feet of ascent, starting and finishing near the Windy Harbour Hotel.

The event drew a mix of runners, all eager to conquer the demanding terrain and take in the stunning views of the High Peak. Cool, a little misty, and a little wet and muddy - ideal fell running conditions for the competitors!

Leading the pack in the men’s category was Joe Brooks of Pennine Fell Runners, who crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 29 minutes and 9 seconds, setting a new course record.

The women’s race saw a great performance from Holly Cruickshank (unattached), who claimed first female in 37 minutes and 38 seconds.

Congratulations to all the runners who took part and especially to Joe Brooks and Holly Cruickshank for their outstanding achievements, and special thanks to Windy Harbour Hotel and Blackshaw Farm for accommodating the race.
