Grab your wellies and bright outdoor clothes to come and help clear vegetation preventing the natural flow of the stream which runs down Wesley Street in Old Glossop.
Old Glossop Residents Association (OGRA) are holding a stream clean on Saturday 15th November from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
Janet Bingham from OGRA said: “During the summer there’s been a build-up of vegetation impeding the flow of the stream. Cutting it back and clearing it will help prevent the brook from overflowing or flooding in heavy rain.

“Not only does this help the brook to run freely but, come late spring, you can see the banks filled with beautiful wildflowers, encouraging bees and other insects. Spending just a couple of hours for one day benefits the whole community for the year.
“We welcome any help from local residents. If you’re coming along, please wear suitable clothing visible to passing traffic and, if possible, bring along any useful tools – such as wheelbarrows, shears, loppers, secateurs, brushes and shovels.
“We’ll provide a skip and free refreshments will be available in the parish church to reward your efforts.”
