Old Glossop Cricket Club (OGCC) is opening its doors this Christmas hosting a number of festive stalls at the recently renamed 'Glossop Glass & Glazing Cricket Ground' on Manor Park Road.
The community cricket club, which will be celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2026, will hold a Christmas Market on Sunday 7th December where up to 20 stalls will be offering a range of arts, crafts and cakes from local providers.
Running from 12 noon until 4.30pm, the OGCC Christmas Markets have been developed to complement the much bigger Old Glossop Christmas Market which is held in the heart of the Old Glossop community on Manor Park Road.
OGCC chairman George White explained: “The Old Glossop Christmas Market is one of the standout days of the festive season and we wanted to make our facilities available to everyone who visits our neighbourhood on the day.”
On Saturday 6 December, the day before the Christmas Markets, OGCC will be running a Wreath Making Workshop between 2pm and 7pm giving visitors the opportunity to create their own unique Christmas decoration with which to greet visitors during the yuletide period.
Underlining the Christmas theme, OGCC will also be running a Christmas Speed Quiz on Saturday 13th December. The popular quiz night is designed to appeal to families and starts at 7pm.
The majority of the stalls have already been claimed, but applications for the remaining spaces are still being taken at: Oldglossopcricketclub@gmail.com
