Here's an image of a less than busy day in Glossop's Spire Hollin, with only a mother taking her child for a walk to be seen.
It’s probably from the 1940s or 1950s when cars on our streets were far fewer than today.
As you can see from our picture, they were a lot cleaner and illuminated by gas lights.
