New head nurse for Tameside and Glossop

Tameside and Glossop have a new joint chief nurse after the appointment of Jacqui Burrow to the area’s Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (TGICFT).

She has been the Interim Chief Nurse with the Northern Care Alliance, which covers the Royal Oldham, Rochdale Infirmary, Fairfield General and Salford Royal hospitals, since May 2022.

Ms Burrow progressed from working as a general nurse at the Manchester Royal Infirmary to being the Children’s Service Manager in East Lancashire between 2007 and 2011, before her promotion to the Director of Nursing role for Bury and Rochdale by 2019.

“Jacqui has a particular interest in the development of new models of working both within nursing and partner agencies,” said a statement from the TGICFT.

“As a result, she is committed to the integration of community and acute services and believes nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals have the knowledge and skills to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of integrated care.”

Jacqui will also take on chief nurse responsibilities in Stockport when Nicola Firth retires next year.
