United Utilities have called in the police after a quantity of blades were dumped in a local beauty spot.
Resembling the ones that are used in craft and industrial knives, they were discovered late last week on the flat area near the jetty at Valehouse Reservoir, Tintwistle.
The area is popular with dog walkers and ramblers and there are regular reports of people dumping rubbish there.
It is not the first time that sharp shards of metal have been found at the water’s edge.
The picture is of some picked up in September.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We can confirm that a number of razor blades were fly-tipped on the footpath at Valehouse Reservoir last week. These have been removed.
"We have reported it to the police and are keeping a close eye on the area to try to prevent further incidents of this nature.”
