A 58-year-old man was threatening and abusive towards an individual at Brookfield Service Station in Glossop.
Tameside magistrates heard the incident had happened in July last year when Raymond Winter harassed his victim.
He pleaded guilty to the offence and was given a nine months conditional discharge, plus ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £22.
His address was given as Stubbing Lane, Worksop.
