High Peak man Carlton Cannon has been given a six months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £950 compensation by Stockport magistrates.
The 34-year-old, of Hockerley New Road in Whaley Bridge, pleaded guilty to a charge of deliberately causing damage to a car at Fernilee Reservoir on March 25 last year.
He must also pay £85 court costs and a £21 victim surcharge.
