A section of the A628 Woodhead Road has now been closed as firefighters continue to tackle a significant wildfire on Tintwistle moorland.
Emergency services were called at 22:11 on Wednesday 24th June.

Six fire engines, a water carrier, welfare unit and command unit are currently on the scene. Crews from Glossop, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Buxton, Hathersage, Hyde and Stalybridge are being supported by specialist wildfire vehicles from Derbyshire and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Services.
Firefighters are working alongside Peak District National Park Rangers, the Eastern Moors Partnership, the RSPB and United Utilities to contain the blaze, which is affecting around 400 square metres of moorland and woodland.
Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed if they can see or smell smoke and to avoid the area while emergency services remain at work.
