Logo competition winner celebrated at Padfield School

PCS Comms Lead Keli Tomlin and logo competition winner Reuben Baker.

Local charity Padfield Community Spaces visited Padfield Primary School last week to announce the winner of their recent logo competition and celebrate the amazing creativity of the pupils there.

Back in May, the charity reached out to the school and asked pupils to help them design a brand-new logo for their charity. With their new Community Garden opening soon, they wanted something that would represent this new venture in the village.

“Our charity exists to maintain a ‘green heart’ at the centre of Padfield and we are really keen to ensure that all residents, and the local school children, feel a part of it” said Communications Lead Keli Tomlin.

Over 50 pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 participated in the logo competition, just before half term, and the charity were blown away by the creativity and imagination in the entries. The winning entry was designed by Y5 student, Reuben Baker.

“Reuben’s logo included hills, a tree and lots of thoughtful words which we really loved” said Keli. “But we never expected so many fantastic, colourful and thoughtful logo ideas and how hard it would be to choose just one. We knew we had to find a way to celebrate them all.”

As well as visiting the school to hand out prizes to winner Reuben, and runners up Harry and Chester, PCS have printed a banner displaying all the logo entries to be displayed at their Grand Opening event on Sunday. They will also be revealing the brand-new logo, inspired by Reuben’s winning entry.

PCS invite everyone to come along and see the amazing designs for themselves, while attending the free opening celebration for Temple Street Community Garden, Padfield between 1:30pm - 4pm on 14th June.
