Months after the initial application, High Peak Borough Council have resubmitted their planning application for 51 dwellings off Cottage Lane in Gamesley.
If building work gets approved, developers would be building 51 properties, including 1-3 bedroom homes as well as apartments which would be used as social housing.
The developers would be tearing up part of the woods at the back of the houses on Cottage Lane, causing disruption to local residents but also to nature and the well used bridal path.
Residents have taken to social media to voice their concerns over the plans due to the effect it would have on the area.
One resident said: “Leave the land alone. Enough is enough now. So fuming.” whilst another said, “It's already over crowded around here.” and “Its a completely inappropriate area to build. It's woodland teaming with wildlife. If permission is granted to build there we may as well just give up.”
Councillors have also said that the comments that previously opposed the application will not be considered towards this one. To leave your comments about the application, visit - http://planning.highpeak.gov.uk/portal/servlets/PlanningComments?REFNO=HPK/2024/0401
