Derbyshire Writing School has been set up with the aim of helping future authors to 'tell their story'.
It has been launched by Buxton-based Laura Stroud who says it’s because she felt out of place on the creative writing courses she had been on.
She says: “Worried that I didn’t know enough about writing or that I hadn’t read all the ‘right’ books, it made me feel really uncomfortable and not very welcome.
“I wanted to set up Derbyshire Writing School as a welcoming and inclusive place for all writers and future writers. A place to learn, have fun and feel comfortable in the process.”
Laura says her courses are creative and informal, and filled with lots of exciting and different activities that will ‘help you find your writing voice’.
