Family and friends overwhelmed by community support after terminal brain tumour diagnosis
Family, friends and members of the Glossop community came together on Saturday (July 11) to raise thousands of pounds in support of local man Jack after he was diagnosed with terminal glioblastoma.
The fundraising event, held at Glossop North End Community Club before Jack begins treatment, featured a charity football match, live music, food, raffles and plenty of community spirit.
The day raised an incredible £5,298, adding to the thousands of pounds already donated through an online fundraising appeal.
Jack's family have thanked everyone who attended, donated or helped make the event possible. Special thanks were given to DJ Jeff Burns for providing the music throughout the day, Woodstock Pizza for keeping everyone fed despite the hot weather, and Aura Will Needham for helping organise the event and hosting the raffle.
The family said they were overwhelmed by the support shown to Jack, with the event highlighting just how much he means to the local community.
