GlossFest set to rock Glossop over Bank Holiday weekend

GlossFest is back, and it's bigger and better than before!

Over the Bank Holiday weekend (23–25 May), Norfolk Square will come alive with the sound of music as GlossFest returns, featuring over 25 bands, a funfair, great local food vendors, and the ever-popular Glossop Round Table Beer Festival.

With two stages and a packed line-up, the festival promises a weekend of wall-to-wall live music in the heart of town. From established names to exciting local talent, there’s something for every music lover.

Acts include:

  • Rook and The Ravens: Glossop’s own alternative rock favourites bring their distinctive sound, powerful lyrics, and intricate harmonies back home.

  • The Guilty Men: A supergroup of music veterans, including 10cc drummer Paul Burgess and members of John Lee’s Barclay James Harvest. Between them, they've performed thousands of gigs, recorded numerous songs and made countless radio and TV appearances.

  • Roomthirteen Acoustic: Usually a five-piece act, this time they’ll be stripping things back for a unique acoustic set.

  • Calico Acoustic: A soulful duo performance from Amy and Jordan of trip-hop band Calico, blending original songs with laid-back covers.

The Glossop Round Table Beer Festival will once again be serving up a fantastic range of drinks, including local favourites from Thornbridge, Buxton, and Bradfield breweries, alongside ciders from Red Bank and High Peak Cider. A cocktail bar and soft drinks will also be available and you will have the chance to add to your collection of souvenir festival ‘glasses’ (for safety reasons they are plastic!).

Festival-goers can even use a new digital beer menu this year, offering an easy way to browse the full drinks list online (see website below).

When the main stage wraps up around 8:30pm, the music doesn’t stop. Several local venues across Glossop will be hosting afterparties and smaller gigs, catering to a variety of musical tastes. Details and venue listings can be found at the website below.

GlossFest is the result of a collaboration between Glossop Round Table and The Glossop Creative Trust/Town Hall Sessions, two organisations with a 40-year history of running events in the town. From bonfire nights to heritage weekends and music festivals, their mission is to bring the community together through high-quality, accessible events.

Entry to GlossFest is completely free, but staging a festival of this scale isn’t. Although all organisers are volunteers, the festival relies on public support to cover key costs like stage equipment, PA systems, and artist fees. All proceeds go toward future events to make them even better!  You can make a donation by scanning the QR code on their website.

This year’s event is made possible with the support of the sponsors: Davis Blank Furniss, Glossop Gasworks, Building Projects Group, Foundation Derbyshire, High Peak Borough Council, Cask and Kitchen, 1 Stop Plumbing, Progressive Solicitors and Harvey Leonard's Wine & Ale Tasters.
