A new Community Interest Company dedicated to supporting mental wellbeing has launched in Glossop, offering free, preventative support rooted in lived experience.
BeOne Mindset CIC is now based locally in Dinting, bringing with it a fresh, holistic approach to helping people improve their mental and emotional wellbeing before they reach crisis point.
Founded in 2022 by personal development coach Ben, BeOne Mindset was created following his own experiences of mental health struggles. Ben openly speaks about a period in his life marked by alcohol and drug misuse, difficulties with the police and significant challenges accessing timely mental health support through the NHS. Facing long waiting times, he began researching self-help tools and techniques, which he credits with helping him turn his life around.
Motivated by his recovery, Ben went on to gain a diploma in Psychology and decided to use what had worked for him to support others. He also made the decision to move to Glossop with his wife and two children, seeking a fresh start away from negative influences from his past. That move has now resulted in BeOne Mindset establishing a physical base in the town to better serve the local community.
Ben is joined by Christine, who also brings powerful lived experience to the team. Christine has faced her own mental health challenges following the loss of her brother, while also being a carer for her daughter who has complex health needs. Christine herself receives support from Reuben’s Retreat. After taking part in one-to-one coaching sessions with Ben, she experienced long-term positive change rather than short-term fixes. Recognising her insight and empathy, Ben invited Christine to become part of the BeOne Mindset team, where she now helps others on their own journeys.
The team also includes Liam (photo below), who manages BeOne Mindset’s podcasts, video content, website and social media. Liam, too, has his own experience of mental health struggles, reinforcing the organisation’s belief that lived experience is central to meaningful support.

BeOne Mindset originally began as an online service, offering personal development podcasts that people could access privately and safely, in their own time. The success of this approach soon highlighted the value of face-to-face support, and the organisation began delivering in-person sessions in Stockport, working alongside large support organisations and endorsed by Stockport Council. Now, with funding from The Bureau, BeOne Mindset is expanding its in-person offering to Glossop.
Sessions will be delivered from their Dinting base and will take a holistic approach to wellbeing. This includes male and female fitness sessions tailored to all abilities, focusing on strength, conditioning and empowerment. These are complemented by wellbeing activities such as mindfulness, sound baths, breathwork, meditation and yoga. The wellbeing classes are open to everyone, regardless of experience, and aim to reduce stress and promote calm in a friendly group setting.
Alongside physical and wellbeing sessions, Ben and Christine will deliver personal development workshops, helping people build resilience, confidence and motivation. These interactive sessions provide practical tools for self-growth and goal-setting, supporting lasting change.
BeOne Mindset is a preventative service, supporting people who are not at crisis point. Drawing on their own experiences, the team recognises that early intervention can stop people reaching crisis altogether. If someone is in crisis, they will be referred to more appropriate specialist services.
Referrals can be made by other organisations or by individuals themselves via a booking form on the BeOne Mindset website. All referrals are carefully triaged to ensure the service is the right fit, or to signpost people to alternative local support if needed. All team members are fully trained in safeguarding and confidentiality.
During a trial period from January to April, BeOne Mindset will offer three fitness or wellbeing sessions per week, alongside a bi-weekly personal development workshop. All sessions are completely free, although people must register in advance and cannot simply turn up.
The team is passionate about supporting individuals while also helping to reduce NHS waiting times by preventing people’s mental health from deteriorating. They will work closely with other Glossop services to ensure joined-up, community-focused care.
They say: “We empower people with the tools to make positive change, but real change requires honesty and personal responsibility. Our own lived experience shows that this approach truly works.”
