Over the last few months, the Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team have seen an increase in anti-social behaviour in Glossop.
Alongside with dealing with the youths involved, they have been working with local schools in a bid to find ways to positively engage with young people in general.
Through conducting a survey with students at Glossopdale School and Sixth Form, they identified that a large proportion of the 400 young people questioned were keen to take part in organised football sessions.
With funding from High Peak Borough Council, an independent sports provider, UK Sports, will now be running sessions from 5pm – 7pm every Wednesday and Friday in Manor Park, near the tennis courts.
The sessions are free and all young people are welcome to attend.
