Every mile matters for Blythe House Hospice

Happy runners taking part in last year's event.

Runners of all abilities are being invited to lace up their trainers and take on the Blythe House Hospice Chatsworth 10k this autumn, as it returns for a scenic challenge with a powerful purpose.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Chatsworth House estate, the 18th annual event is set to take place on Sunday 13th September 2026, offering participants a memorable running experience while supporting a vital local cause.

Many people sign up to achieve a personal best or tick off a new running challenge, but organisers are keen to remind runners that the event is about much more than crossing the finish line.

The money raised through entries and fundraising helps Blythe House Hospice to provide compassionate care, practical support and comfort to local people and their families.

Only 28% of the hospice’s running costs are funded by the NHS. The rest must be raised through community support, including charity shops, donations and events like the Chatsworth 10k. Every stride runners take will help the hospice to keep care local and free for families who need it.

Rachael Gee, Fundraising and Events Coordinator at Blythe House Hospice, who organises the event, said: ‘The Chatsworth 10k is always a fantastic day; bringing together runners of all abilities for a shared purpose. While many people sign up to challenge themselves, the real impact of the event is the difference it makes for local families who rely on hospice care.

‘Every runner who takes part helps us continue providing care, support and comfort when it’s needed most. Last year’s event was our biggest yet, and we’d love to see even more people join us this September to help make 2026 even more special.

‘I’d like to say a big thank you to our headline sponsor, BRM Solicitors for their continued support of the Blythe House Hospice Chatsworth 10k, and our business and community supporters, without whom the event simply wouldn’t be possible, including the Chatsworth House Estate, iBottles and iKrafts, TF Jackson, The Eye and Ear Place, Peak Logs, John F Hunt Power, Bloomers of Bakewell, Buxton Water, Up & Running UK, and Holdsworth Foods.’

Early bird entry is now open until Saturday 31st May, giving runners the chance to secure their place at a reduced rate: www.blythehousehospice.org.uk/chatsworth-10k
