The dog fouling problem is apparently so severe in Charlesworth that there is talk of ‘direct action’.
Last week’s parish council meeting even heard threats of following owners who don’t ‘scoop the poop’ home and then pushing the mess through their letter box.
That probably won’t happen, but there is talk of keeping an eye open for offending owners and sending their details to High Peak Borough Council.
Councillors would like to see a visit from the borough council enforcement officer to lie in wait to catch owners red-handed.
They claim it’s years since there was a prosecution for dog fouling in Charlesworth - yet the problem is getting worse.
Councillors say there are enough bins in the village to take the mess, but the problem continues.
