High Peak Borough Council is encouraging residents to complete a Household Enquiry Form as soon as possible.
Every household in the borough should have received the form through the post.
The form asks homeowners and tenants to confirm the people currently living at the address and registered to vote at that property.
The council said in a statement: "Please don't ignore this form - it's important that you respond as soon as possible to make sure our electoral registers are as up to date as possible."
