Music, mulled wine and mince pies are the ingredients for Glossop Music Festival’s annual Christmas Concert.
It’s at Glossop Parish Church at 7.30pm on Friday, December 13, and there is another top class line-up.
Award-winning pianist Viv McLean is joined by Benjamin Powell, pianist for the contemporary Manchester ensemble Psappha and Hallé Orchestra’s principal flute, Amy Yule, in a programme of Schubert, Poulenc and festive music.
All three are renowned, prize-winning soloists, Benjamin is also a member of the festival’s artistic team and lives in Glossop.
There will be mulled wine and mince pies available before the concert and all funds raised will go to support future work by the festival.
An organiser said: “This event will not be ticketed, just turn up. Doors open at 7pm. Donations will be gratefully received after the concert to reflect what the concert was worth.”
