Christmas is almost here, which means there will be some changes to bin collections during the holiday season.
There will be no collections on Christmas Day (Wednesday), Boxing Day (Thursday) or New Year’s Day (Wednesday).
For people whose bins are due to be collected on Christmas Day, rubbish (black bin) collections will take place on Monday 23 December and recycling (brown bin) collections will take place on Friday 27 December.
For people whose bins are due to be collected on Boxing Day, rubbish (black bin) collections will take place on Tuesday 24 December and recycling (brown bin) collections will take place on Friday 27 December.
For collections due on Friday 27 December, rubbish (black bin) collections will take place as normal and recycling (brown bin) collections will take place on Monday 30 December.
For people whose bins are due to be collected on New Year's Day, rubbish (black bin) collections will take place on Tuesday 31 December and recycling (brown bin) collections will take place on Thursday 2 January.
Green lidded bin collections are suspended between Monday 23 December and Friday 3 January.
Jean Todd, Executive Councillor for Climate Change, Environment and Community Safety, said: “Christmas is a busy enough time without having to remember when your bins are going to be collected so we’re making it as easy as possible for residents to check via our website.
“All you need to do is enter your street name or postcode and select your address to see any changes to bin collections over the festive season. Our website also includes information about which items go in which bins should anyone need a reminder!”
