Centre Stage head to France for an International Dance Competition

On the 4th October, children from Centre Stage Dance Academy in Glossop will travel to France to compete in an International Dance Competition at held at Disneyland, Paris.

They will be representing Centre Stage but also the UK at this competition. 

The Dance school recently qualified for this prestigious dance competition that will see them compete against over 60 other routines from all over the World. 

The teams are made up of children ranging from 3 to 16 years old and have qualified to compete in 5 different categories ranging from contemporary and acrobatic styles to musical theatre and street dance. 

After a long Disney audition process the children have also been invited to take part in the Disney Parade which takes place on Main Street during the Sunday. 

Meg Elliott, Principal at Centre Stage said: “A huge thanks to all the sponsorships, fundraising & community spirit our dance families and local businesses have given us to make this trip possible for so many young, talented local performers. And a massive good luck to all the students from Centre Stage after the months of hard work and commitment.” 

10 year old Lois Lonsdale who is also a Disney performer added: I am very proud to represent Centre Stage, Glossop and the UK at this competition. We are very excited to perform at Disney and I'm looking forward to bringing home lots of trophies with my team! "

Arabella Walker, the Centre Stage Team Captain said: I'm so excited for this great opportunity. This is my first time at Disney and I can't wait to compete alongside this amazing team of performers! Everyone has worked so hard! 

The competition takes place over the weekend of 5th and 6th October.
