A57 Link Road Scheme works update

National Highways have released information about the next planned works on the A57 Link Road Scheme taking place in January 2026.

1) NIGHT-TIME TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON HYDE ROAD

• From Monday 5 January, National Highways will spend around three weeks widening the access to their compound.
• For safety reasons, they will install overnight two-way traffic lights on Hyde Road at the compound next to the BP Garage.
• The lights will be in place between 7pm and 6am.
• In order to keep disruption to a minimum they will carry out the noisiest activities earlier in the shift.

2) WOOLLEY BRIDGE UPCOMING WORKS

• On Tuesday 6 January, temporary traffic lights will be in place at Woolley Bridge between 9am and 3pm.
• This is in order to bring in machinery to complete archaeological work and install security fencing.
• From Monday 26 January, two-way traffic lights will be in place at Woolley Bridge from 9am to 3pm.
• This is in order to create site access. These lights will be in place for around three weeks from Monday to Friday only.

3) LANE CLOSURES AT M67 JUNCTION 4 ROUNDABOUT

• Between Monday 26th and Friday 30th January, essential de-vegetation works will require lane closures each night between 8pm and 6am.
• Single lane closures will be in place on the inner ring of the M67 junction 4 roundabout.
• Approaches on A57 Hyde Road and A560 Stockport Road will be reduced to a single lane.
• Access at the roundabout will be maintained, but drivers should expect lane restrictions and possible delays.

National Highways are advising motorists to plan and allow extra time to complete journeys.
