The date has now been set for our next 'Indie Rock n Roll Local Music Spotlight Live' night which will once again take place at Tokyo at Whittles Live Music Venue in Oldham.
Taking place on Friday August 8th, this will be our fifth live night, which celebrates the Local Music Spotlight feature we run on Tameside Radio and across the Not Really Here Media news outlets, and with well over one hundred bands and artists having now appeared on the feature since we launched it in January 2023, putting a line up together and picking just a handful of bands to play on these nights doesn't get any easier. But after many discussions with my radio sidekick Laura Beth, the line up we have put together for our August night is as strong as ever. Playing live will be The Information Highway, Jesus Knievel, The Lakes, Gracie May, P*Starr, Sia Raw, and Mora and the Fabulous Wonderfuls, who will feature the legendary George Borowski on guitar. All bands and artists have or will have appeared as an act of the week on Local Music Spotlight before the event takes place, and with such a strong line up we are expecting another busy night. I will be hosting and DJing on the night, alongside DJ sets by Tameside Radio's Laura Beth. We are really proud of Local Music Spotlight and I still receive many emails each week from musicians and bands who want to be involved, which shows just how much great music there still is coming from our part of the world.
