United Utilities is set to host an online recruitment event as part of a region-wide drive to expand its workforce.
The Northwest water and wastewater company is currently in the first phase of a major programme to grow its team while delivering the largest environmental investment programme in its history.
Hundreds of roles are now available within the company’s wastewater division, including positions for process operators, process controllers, field service engineers and customer support technicians.
The roles are based across the region, including Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, Cumbria and Lancashire. In Greater Manchester specifically, vacancies are available in Davyhulme, Leigh, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Salford, Trafford and Stockport. Positions include mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineers, as well as process operators and process controllers.
To give prospective applicants the chance to find out more, United Utilities will host an online jobs event at 4pm on Wednesday, March 4. The event, which will be held via Microsoft Virtual Events powered by Teams, will provide information about the available roles and offer attendees the opportunity to hear directly from members of the wastewater team about their experiences working for the company.
Chris Borradaile, Director of Wastewater Services at United Utilities, said: “The roles we are recruiting for will give people the opportunity to make a positive impact in the communities they work in. They will have the opportunity to build a career for life and benefit from comprehensive training and the opportunity for career development.
“We’re building new teams across the region. While it isn’t necessary to have experience in water or wastewater, it is important to be customer focused and keen to be hands on.”
United Utilities is the only Northwest-based FTSE 100 company and one of the region’s largest employers, with around 7,000 staff.
New recruits can expect a generous benefits package, including 26 days of annual leave, rising to 30 days after four years of service, in addition to eight bank holidays. The company also offers a competitive pension scheme with up to 14 per cent employer contribution (21 per cent combined), a comprehensive company-funded healthcare plan, gym and wellbeing benefits, salary finance options, car and cycle-to-work schemes, enhanced parental leave and a performance-related bonus scheme.
People interested in attending the online event can find out more via Microsoft Virtual Events powered by Teams. Further information about current vacancies is available at: Current vacancies | United Utilities - Corporate
