Two life-saving defibrillators to be installed in Stalybridge

Two life-saving defibrillators are set to be installed in Stalybridge town centre, thanks to the successful fundraising efforts of the Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club and Stalybridge Town Team.

The new defibrillators will be available for use 24/7, located at the junction of Melbourne Street and Market Street and on the outside wall of the Lord Stamford Pub. The initiative aims to improve emergency response times and empower the local community to act swiftly in the event of cardiac arrest.

In addition to securing the equipment, the Rotary and Town Team have also organised a free training course, covering CPR techniques, how to use a defibrillator, and guidance on what to do in an emergency. So far, 25 people have taken part, with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Attendees reported a significant boost in their confidence to help during medical emergencies.
