Work on the Ashton Market Square is beginning to show clear signs of progress, with recent developments offering a glimpse of how the space will look, once complete.
Following a series of well-attended spring family events, which showcased the square’s potential as a community hub, new features are now being introduced on site. A mix of maple and alder trees has been planted, while additional planting work is underway, taking advantage of the recent spell of sunny weather. These additions are enhancing the newly laid paving and helping residents visualise the finished design.
The trees form a key part of the wider transformation, aimed at creating a greener and more versatile public space. Once completed, the square is expected to accommodate a range of uses, from markets and organised events to informal gatherings, while also providing a place for people to relax in the town centre.
