Staff at Tibard swapped their usual uniforms for bold, bright outfits as they celebrated Wear It Pink Day on Thursday 23rd October, raising funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Now.
Employees embraced the theme in style, donning everything from vibrant pink clothing to eye-catching accessories, with a special prize awarded for the “pinkest outfit” of the day. The workplace was filled with fun and fundraising activities including a raffle, tombola, sweet treats, and a “Guess How Many Pink Sweets in the Jar” competition. Cakes, cookies, and breast cancer ribbon badges also went down a treat, helping to boost donations.
Among the raffle prizes were an embroidered cuddly bunny, Irish whiskey, a Baylis & Harding advent calendar, a bottle of bubbly and a box of Heroes chocolates, all generously donated to support the cause.
In total, Tibard raised an impressive £1,098.40, made up of: £504.20 from staff contributions, raffle tickets and cake sales, £45 in online donations via JustGiving and £549.20 donated by Tibard as a business.
The company continues to champion cancer support initiatives. Earlier this year, Tibard’s machinists took part in a dedicated volunteering day, producing 400 bespoke pamper bags for Macmillan cancer patients.
They also welcomed photography students from Tameside College to capture the event, helping support the students’ practical learning experience.
Managing Director Ian Mitchell praised the team’s enthusiasm, saying: “The success of the day was entirely down to our amazing team. It was wonderful to see everyone get behind such an important cause so close to our hearts.”
