Tesco Hattersley is celebrating an outstanding year of community support, marking major milestones in its ongoing commitment to local causes across Tameside.
As part of its two-year pledge supporting The Christie charity, the Hattersley store has raised an impressive £8,000, thanks to a wide range of fundraising events held throughout the store. The achievement reflects the dedication of both colleagues and customers who have come together to support life-saving cancer care.
The store has also proudly marked the first anniversary of its partnership with Hattersley Projects Well Women Group, continuing to support initiatives that make a positive difference to women in the local community.
In the run-up to Christmas, Tesco Hattersley has gone above and beyond to support families and individuals in need. More than 200 toys have been donated to the Tameside Hospital Appeal, helping to ensure that children spending Christmas in hospital receive a special gift during a challenging time.
The store has also provided three trolleys filled with essential items to support people experiencing homelessness across Tameside. This initiative was led by local community champion Pauline Town, whose tireless work continues to make a real impact on vulnerable individuals.
In addition, toys collected during the final week before Christmas are being donated to the Tameside ladies’ refuge shelter, helping to ensure that no child wakes up without a present on Christmas Day.
