Adults in Tameside who receive long-term support from Adult Social Care may soon be invited to take part in a national feedback survey.

Each year, councils across England are required to carry out the Adult Social Care Survey (ASCS), which gathers people’s views and experiences of the care and support they receive. In Tameside, the survey will be sent by post from 26 January to a random selection of adults who access long-term social care services.

The survey is completely anonymous and includes a freepost return envelope, meaning no stamp is needed. It asks participants about their experiences of care and support, helping services understand what is working well and where improvements can be made.

Feedback collected through the ASCS plays an important role in promoting transparency and accountability in adult social care. The results help people make informed choices about their care and support, while also contributing to national outcome measures within the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework. Locally, the findings help shape future plans for Tameside Council’s adult services.

Executive Member for Adult Social Care, Councillor John Taylor, said: “Every year, we use this survey to understand what’s going well and where our adult services can improve. Your feedback is vital, it helps ensure we’re listening to your unique experiences when accessing care and support. If you’re selected, please take a few moments to complete the survey, thank you to everyone who takes part.”

The deadline to return the completed survey is Friday 13 February 2025. Anyone who needs support to complete the survey will find contact details included in the letter sent with it.

Residents who are selected are encouraged to take part and share their views to help improve adult social care services in Tameside.
