An Ashton-under-Lyne law firm is teaming up with Francis House Children’s Hospice to help local people put their affairs in order – while raising vital funds for families facing the toughest of times.
Throughout September, Bromleys LLP, based on Wellington Road, is taking part in Francis House’s annual Make a Will Month campaign. The initiative invites people to have a simple Will drawn up or an existing one amended for free, in return for a suggested donation to the hospice.
Bromleys’ experienced solicitors are giving their time and expertise in exchange for a £100 donation for an individual Will, or £175 for a double Will for married couples or partners – a significant saving on standard fees.
Chris Eaton, Trainee Solicitor in Bromleys’ Wills and Probate Department, said: “At Bromleys we have a real focus on Making a Positive Difference, and supporting Francis House through Make a Will Month allows us to ensure this is continued. We hope to have a real impact both in helping people set their affairs in order with their Will, but also to support Francis House who do fantastic work supporting families going through difficult circumstances.”
Francis House Children’s Hospice, based in Didsbury, provides a lifeline to families of children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Services include respite care, homecare, sibling support and bereavement support. The hospice also has three specially cooled Rainbow Rooms, giving families precious private time with their child after death until the funeral.
Organisers are also encouraging participants to consider leaving a legacy gift in their Will, ensuring the hospice’s invaluable care can continue long into the future.
Susie Poppitt of Francis House Children’s Hospice explained: “By making a Will during September through one of our participating solicitors, not only will you be safeguarding your family’s future, but you’ll also be supporting your local children’s hospice. Many people don’t realise that a change in family circumstances like moving home, starting a family or getting married, provides an ideal opportunity for making a Will.”
She added: “Leaving a legacy gift in a Will is a meaningful way of supporting our children’s hospice. We rely heavily on donations in the form of legacies and any gift that you choose to make in the form of a legacy will be treasured by everyone at Francis House. We would like to express our gratitude to participating firms for offering their expertise in support of this scheme.”
Make a Will Month runs from September 1 to September 30.
