Held in the heart of Mottram, the popular local event brought families, friends, and visitors of all ages together for a celebration of creativity, companionship, and countryside charm. With warm weather adding to the festive atmosphere, the showground buzzed with excitement from the moment the gates opened.

Among the day’s highlights was the crowd-pleasing hobby horsing, a quirky and energetic activity that proved a favourite with children and spectators alike. Equally popular was the traditional dog show, which drew proud pet owners and canine enthusiasts from across the area. The competition was filled with furry fun and friendly rivalry, offering a platform for pooches of all shapes and sizes to shine.

Livestock also took centre stage, with impressive displays of sheep, cattle, and horses drawing admiration from visitors. The animals were turned out to a high standard, reflecting the dedication and care of their handlers. For many, it was a chance to get up close to farm life and appreciate the importance of local agriculture in the region’s heritage.

Visitors were also able to explore a wide range of stalls and displays, including a presence from the Hattersley Projects group. Other vendors offered crafts, gifts, food, and games, creating a lively marketplace atmosphere throughout the show.

Live entertainment added to the celebratory mood, with performances keeping crowds smiling and dancing throughout the day. From music to interactive shows, there was something to keep every age group entertained.

On top of everything else there was a parade of vintage cars that went around the ring of the show. There was cars as old as the 30’s in attendance, and were a big hit among the crowds.
