Former Stalybridge resident Regan Tetlow has been honoured with an official FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) airsport medal, recognising his outstanding contribution to air sports on the world stage.
The medal is presented by the FAI to individuals who have made an exceptional impact through service, dedication and promotion of aviation and sporting excellence.
Regan grew up in Stalybridge before moving away in 1999. He has since built an international broadcasting career, presenting coverage for Eurosport, the Olympic Channel and world championship airsport events.
Despite his worldwide career, Regan says Stalybridge is never far from his heart.
“I was born and raised in Stalybridge, and it will always be home to me,” he said. “To receive this medal from the FAI is a huge privilege. It’s an honour not only for me but also for the community where my journey began.”
