Residents in Stalybridge are being invited to roll up their sleeves and take pride in their town as a community clean-up takes place later this month.
The initiative, led by Stalybridge Town Team in partnership with the Women’s Institute, will see volunteers come together on Saturday 28 March to help tidy up key areas across Stalybridge.
The event will begin at 9.30am, with participants meeting at Armentières Square, outside the Town Team Hub on the corner of the Tesco car park. From there, volunteers will split into small groups and head out to collect litter in the town centre, surrounding streets and along the canal.
Organisers say the clean-up is part of ongoing efforts to keep Stalybridge looking its best, while also encouraging more residents to get involved in community life.
Chris Tyler, vice chair of the Town Team, said:
“We’re really pleased to be working alongside the Women’s Institute this month and hope to see a great turnout.
“These clean-ups make a real difference to the look and feel of the town, and they’re also a great way for people to meet others and get involved in their community.”
All equipment will be provided on the day, and volunteers of all ages are welcome to take part. No prior experience is needed, and anyone interested can simply turn up on the morning.
The clean-up will take place on Saturday 28 March, starting at 9.30am.
