Rainbows and their leaders from St Raphaels in Stalybridge visited Seven Springs Outdoor Activity Centre in Disley to complete their Bee Rescuer badge.
Rainbows and Brownies from St Raphael’s in Stalybridge have been busy with a series of exciting and educational outings, gaining hands-on experience while having plenty of fun!
The Rainbows, alongside their leaders, recently travelled to Seven Springs Outdoor Activity Centre in Disley to work towards their Bee Rescuer badge. Joining Rainbows and Guides from across Greater Manchester, the group took part in a variety of themed crafts, games and activities focused on the importance of bees and the environment.
One highlight of the day was creating their own “bug hotels,” which the girls were able to take home to support local wildlife. The group also visited the “Agnes Bee Den Powell” sculpture, originally part of the Manchester Bee Trail, which has now found a permanent home at the centre.
Meanwhile, Brownies and Rainbows from the same unit enjoyed an action-packed visit to Stalybridge Fire Station. During the visit, they explored a fire engine, tried on firefighting uniforms, and even had the chance to use real equipment under the guidance of the station team.
Unit leaders praised the experience, saying: “The girls had a great time, and the station staff answered all their questions. They loved trying out the hoses and dressing up.”
Both trips provided valuable learning opportunities while inspiring teamwork, curiosity, and confidence among the young members.
