Santa Paws is coming to Denton

Dogs Trust Manchester is getting into the Christmas spirit as it prepares to host its annual Christmas Fair on Sunday 7th December, and the team is inviting the whole community, two-legged and four-legged visitors alike, to join in a day packed with festive fun.

Running from 10am to 4pm at the charity’s rehoming centre on Parkway in Denton, the fair promises a cheerful start to the season. Guests can look forward to games, raffles, tombola stalls, festive food, and plenty of opportunities for Christmas shopping, with a range of seasonal gifts on offer. Entry and parking are free, and visitors can even meet Santa Paws for a memorable festive photo.

With the countdown now on, the team is appealing to the public for donations to help make the event a success. Items such as gift sets, chocolates, dog toys, accessories, and treats are especially welcome and will be used as prizes in the fair’s raffles and tombolas.

Lisa Eardley, Manager at Dogs Trust Manchester, says the event is a highlight of the charity’s festive calendar: “Our Christmas Fair is a great way to get into the festive spirit and welcome our wonderful supporters and their four-legged friends to Dogs Trust Manchester for a fun-filled day! This event is a wonderful way to raise pounds for hounds whilst getting in the Christmas spirit, with all the money raised at our Christmas Fair going to support the work of Dogs Trust.”

She added a gentle reminder for dog owners planning to attend: “It’s always very busy and noisy at the Christmas Fair, so while we hope lots of dogs, especially former Dogs Trust Manchester residents, come along, we would ask people only to bring their dogs if they are sure they will thoroughly enjoy it. Although not every dog will be in a home this Christmas, the dogs in our care will still benefit from the love and commitment of our brilliant rehoming centre staff.”
