Residents across Gorton and Denton are heading to the polls today (February 26) as voters take part in the parliamentary election for the constituency.
Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm, giving electors the opportunity to cast their vote and have their say on who will represent the area in Westminster.
Voters are reminded to bring an accepted form of photo ID in order to receive their ballot paper. Anyone in the queue at 10pm will still be able to vote.
This election sees a wide range of candidates standing for the Gorton and Denton constituency, representing parties from across the political spectrum. The full list of candidates is as follows:

- Dan Clarke – Libertarian Party
- Matt Goodwin – Reform UK
- Sir Oink A Lot – The Official Monster Raving Looney Party
- Joseph O’Meachair – Rejoin EU
- Sebastian Moore – Social Democratic Party
- Jacqueline Pearcey – Liberal Democrats
- Hannah Spencer – Green Party
- Angeliki Stogia – Labour Party
- Hugo Wils – Communist League
Voters can mark their ballot for one candidate of their choice. The candidate with the most votes will be elected as Member of Parliament for the constituency.
If you are registered to vote in Gorton and Denton, don’t forget to visit your local polling station before 10pm.
